mionda lets you keep a private journal of miondas: one photograph with up to ten seconds of sound. You can share some of them with other people who have an account. This page explains what information the mionda app (Android) and the website mionda.life collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language.
mionda is operated by the team behind mionda.life ("mionda", "we", "us"). You can reach us at Hola@mionda.life for anything about your information.
| Information | Details |
|---|---|
| Account details | Your email address, and either a password (stored by Google's sign-in service in hashed form, never readable by us) or the account you use with Continue with Google. Your @username, display name, profile photo and a short profile statement (up to 75 characters) that you choose. |
| Your miondas | The photograph, the audio you record or import, the caption (up to 340 characters), the date, the length and quality settings, and whether the mionda is Public or Followers only. Books you make from your miondas. |
| Place (optional) | Off by default. If you add a place, we store its name and the map position you picked (exact, or rounded to about 1 km, as you choose). The app may ask for approximate location permission only to help the map. Other people see the place name only, never the coordinates. |
| Who you follow | People you follow, people who follow you, follow requests, and people you have blocked. |
| Messages | Private messages between two people, including any mionda you attach, and when you last read them. Messages are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted. |
| Reports | If you report a person or a conversation, we keep the report, who sent it, and the reason you gave. |
| Notifications | If you allow notifications, a device token that lets us send you a message alert. |
| Device and usage data | Basic, non-advertising analytics about how the app is used (for example app version, device model, screens opened), an app-installation identifier, and signals from Google that confirm the app is a genuine copy (Play Integrity). This helps us fix problems and keep the service secure. |
We do not use your microphone except while you hold the record button, and the app does not need access to your photo library: you choose a photograph with the system photo picker.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to train advertising or profiling systems.
mionda is built on Google's Firebase and Google Cloud services. They process information on our behalf, only to provide the service: Firebase Authentication (sign-in), Cloud Firestore (your records and messages), Cloud Storage (photos, sound and profile pictures), Cloud Functions, Firebase Hosting (this website), Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications), Google Analytics for Firebase (usage analytics), Firebase App Check and Play Integrity (security), and Google Maps (the map when you add a place). Their own privacy policies also apply: policies.google.com/privacy.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect people from serious harm.
Your information is stored on Google's servers, mainly in the United States. If you use mionda from another country, your information is transferred there.
mionda is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has an account, write to us and we will delete it.
Access is controlled by sign-in and by security rules that stop people reading anything they are not allowed to see. Data is encrypted in transit. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email.
